Helping organizations and institutions understand how historical, structural, and lived conditions shape health, behavior, well-being, and human potential, so they can move beyond individual blame toward more informed, context-aware action.

Conventional approaches to health, well-being, and performance often focus on individual behavior without examining the historical, structural, and lived conditions shaping those outcomes.
The Racialized Hierarchy of Needs™ reveals how disrupted human needs and chronic survival stress can become biologically embedded, influencing disease vulnerability, well-being, and the capacity to flourish.
Rooted in the historical and lived experiences of Black communities, the framework connects history, culture, environment, identity, and biology, offering a teachable lens that universities, healthcare organizations, workplaces, and communities can apply more broadly.

The Racialized Hierarchy of Needs™ illuminates what sits underneath stress, burnout, and long-term health outcomes.
Burnout and fatigue are not just the result of workload. They are often the accumulation of unmet needs across multiple levels, including physiological, safety, and psychological experiences.
Chronic stress is not random. It is shaped by environment, identity, and historical conditions that impact the body over time, contributing to biological dysregulation.
Effective wellness strategies must go beyond surface-level interventions and address the root causes of stress through culturally informed, system-aware approaches.
